| From as far back as 1948 Goodwood has been home to British motor racing. It has hosted classic races such as the Tourist Trophy for sports cars in addition to the Glover Trophy for Grand Prix cars. The circuit has a rich history being established by Freddie March, a Brookland’s winner and the 9th Duke of Richmond. In 1998 motor racing returned to Goodwood circuit for the first time following its closure in 1966. Today the event that is known as Goodwood revival, has since become one of the biggest motorsport events staged entirely in period dress. It attracts crowds by the thousands from across the globe and Equipment4Garages was proud to exhibit there this September 2022. |

Our team at Equipment4garages arrived on the 15th of September bright and early to set up and exhibit some of our best sellers. There was an immense buzz about the place when the doors opened to the public, being the first time the event had taken place since 2019. For this reason, Goodwood was undoubtably one of our most anticipated events. We were returning this year with a new team and a fresh initiative. The show allowed us to really get to know our customers both current and potential. The scenery of Shelby Cobras and Jaguar E Types, was a pleasant change from simply talking on the phone. However, it wasn’t our conversations that brought people to our stand but more so our display of the garage essentials: The Mid-Rise Scissor Lift E4G MR10TD and The Kwik Lift E4G KL2500AC. Our team spent the majority of the time answering technical, project based queries and demonstrating our products. We had banners displaying our equipment4garages, 4 post parking lifts and vehicle storage solutions which proved to be a hit amongst classic collectors and those looking to save some space.
Although our marque’s purpose was to be a showcase for sales it ended up being a collaborative hub for car specialists and enthusiasts. Members of our team were receiving just as much advice as they were giving. Poor Henry went home with a hefty shopping list of parts for his 1974 Beetle. We enjoyed hearing stories from our existing customers who had modified and repaired their cars with use of our lifts and popped into the stand. We love hearing the feedback that our products are counted on and valued by you. |

Our target for the weekend was the same as many; to get back on track...or for a lucky few, to get back racing on the track! Especially after the past few limbo years. Goodwood was a great experience and an all round first for me. The festival didn’t disappoint, everyday there was something new and the morning rumble of the spitfires flying over was just one of many spectacles of the event. Whilst I didn’t manage to catch much racing I did see and hear the whine of a personal favorite, a turbo charged classic mini.
It was lovely to finally meet our customer base and be able to talk to individuals in person. The selection that we had proved very helpful as a lot of our hobbyist clients were after a reliable lift that wouldn’t take up loads of room. I distinctly remember highlighting some of the many features of the KL2500AC / Kwik Lift, such as the omni-variable wheels for mobility and flat height of just 8cm, this coupled by the opportunity to mount the lift on the wall when not in use was then helpful for the gentleman to sway his wife into approving his purchase!
Being the first of our events post pandemic it is fair to say it was a huge success. The revival most definitely transports you back in time to the romance and glamour of motor racing as it used to be in Goodwood's heyday. Equipment4Garages was very proud to be part of such a historical and amazing exhibition and looks forward to making an appearance next year. |
