Kwik Lifts originated from combining 2 post lift and mid-rise scissor lift technology.

A two-post would be a first choice car lift for most, but while this sounds great in theory, there are obstacles that are often impossible to overcome.

  1. Most home garages in the UK the dimensions are too small
  2. Two-post lifts must be bolted down on to an appropriate concrete base
  3. There must be sufficient height
  4. A full-size car lift might take up valuable space
  5. Consider the cost of the lift + installation

Limited space is the main reason that people who want a full-size car lift can’t get one. Adding another building or altering an existing building for a car lift could take a lengthy planning application and easily cost thousands. Until the Kwik Lift type of design arrived there wasn’t really a lift without cross members to address this problem. Collapsing to just 88mm overall height, the Kwik Lift is an ideal car lift for your home garage and it can be stowed neatly on the wall using the Kwik Lift hanging brackets. Also, Kwik Lifts are now becoming very popular with mobile mechanics and used regularly on track days.

Mid-Rise scissor lifts are an alternative, but they are heavy and would need to be driven over for parking a car if space was an issue. A Kwik Lift is the only home style car lift that is both portable and has an open-center. It has an electric-hydraulic power unit available in both AC 220v or DC12v and it has norechargeable air cylinders to operate. When raised it physically locks on both frames and keeps the vehicle raised for as long as necessary. See our website site www.kwiklifts.co.uk
